1.4986, X7CrNiMoBNb16-16 – description

Heat-resistant steel. It contains niobium and boron along wich high amount of nickel and chromium.

  • Heat-resistant
  • Creep-resistant
  • Contains niobium – which strengthens solution, positively affects creep-resistance and improves pitting corrosion resistance.
  • Contains boron – which improves high-temperature creep-resistance.

  • Specific heat capacity: 460 J/kg*K
  • Modulus of elasticity (Young module): 196 GPa
  • Thermal conductivity at 20℃: 15 W/m*K
  • Linear expansion coefficient: 16.6*10-6 1/℃

This grade is classified in the group 8.1 (austenitic steel with chromium content not greater than 19%) according to ISO / TR and should be weld as such.
