X20CrMo13, 1.4120 - specifications

Martensitic stainless steel similar to X20Cr13 / 1.4021 grade with addition of molybdenum used for production of knives for woodworking, parts of turbines, and components working up to the temperature of about 500℃. Replacement of steel in heat-resistant version is X19CrMo12-1, 1.4921.


Mechanical properties of 1.4120, X20CrMo13

  • Rm: 750 - 900 N/mm2
  • Yield strength, Rp0,2: >550 N/mm2
  • A: >14%
  • Hardness: 220 - 280 HB

Heat treatment:

  • Annealing at 750 - 850℃ with furnace
  • Hardening at 950 - 1000℃ in oil
  • Tempering at 650 - 750℃ with cooling in air
